During the Spring Festival holiday (February 15-23, 2026), Air China operated more than 16,000 passenger flights, averaging over 1,780 flights per day, an increase of 8.8 percent year-on-year. The airline transported nearly 2.57 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%. Among them, passenger travel peaked on February 23, when Air China operated 1,863 flights and carried 317,000 passengers.
With aviation safety as its priority, Air China coordinated its international and domestic operations, optimized its structural layout, and continuously improved flight operational efficiency. Guided by a people-centered approach, the airline worked to meet the needs of passengers to go home for the Spring Festival. In terms of route demand, Air China increased capacity on international and regional routes to Oceania, the Asia-Pacific and other regional destinations to better match demand in key markets. Domestically, the airline maintained strong capacity in high-traffic regions and increased flights to popular destinations such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hainan, and Northeast China, ensuring smooth and convenient travel for passengers.
In addition, to ease the imbanlance between supply and demand for return journey from Hainan during the Spring Festival holiday, Air China temporarily arranged 18 additional flights on routes from Haikou to Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hangzhou. The airline also deployed larger aircraft on key routes such as Sanya to meet strong passenger demand. During the Spring Festival holiday, Air China operated 508 flights on routes to and from Hainan, up 5% year-on-year.
