Recently, the first batch of local specialties in Batang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province-Batang Plateau apples were officially delivered to the catering services of Air China Southwest Branch, marking the another effective initiative by Air China Southwest Branch in supporting rural revitalization.
At the beginning of this year, the Party Committee of Air China Southwest Branch determined the work idea of coordinating regional resources and concentrating efforts to support Batang's rural revitalization. They formulated a four-year plan and the 2024 assistance action plan, and actively promoted the implementation of various assistance tasks which included conducting on-site investigations and research in Batang, providing comprehensive ability improvement training for village secretaries, publishing promotional materials about Batang tourism products in the "Wings of China" in-flight magazine, introducing Batang mountain spring water into the lounges at Tianfu and Shuangliu airports, organizing and participating in the first Hippo Life Festival held by Batang County, and encouraging regional units to support consumption assistance and procurement.
To smoothly promote the introduction of Batang apples into the cabin, the branch company held several special meetings on the topic of featuring agricultural products in-flight, and conducted in-depth communication and discussion with relevant departments and suppliers in Batang County to evaluate the characteristics and supply of Batang Plateau apples, and clarify the intention of Batang Plateau apples as crew meals. The goal is to drive more Batang agricultural products out of the mountains. After product selection and repeated negotiations, on October 9th, Batang Plateau apples officially made their debut in-flight. According to the current flight volume, it is estimated that about 140,000 kilograms (approximately 280,000 pounds) of Batang Plateau apples will be purchased annually.
