Malaysia Airlines COO: Pilot training costs 'something we really need to address as an industry'

Malaysia Airlines COO Nasaruddin A Bakar, speaking at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Asia, stated (31-Oct-2025) the costs involved in pilot training are a "serious issue" and "something we really need to address as an industry". Mr Bakar said the airline has been "doing a lot of marketing to promote the industry" to support recruitment, particularly for engineers.
