On 21 October, Mr. Andre Purret, Deputy Executive Director of IFF, and Mr. Nelson Grima, the Coordinator of the Science Policy Project, visited the Chinese Academy of Forestry. Cui Lijuan, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Forestry and ad hoc executive committee member of International Forestry Federation, presided over the discussion and exchange meeting.
The meeting pointed out that the International Forestry Federation and the Chinese Academy of Forestry are important strategic partners of each other. The two sides have cooperated for more than 40 years, and have achieved fruitful cooperation results in various aspects such as jointly holding international conferences, supporting experts to hold international academic positions, and carrying out the construction and cultivation of young talents capacity. In the future, the two sides will focus on the frontier issues of forestry science, continue to expand cooperation in knowledge sharing, dissemination and transformation, and jointly contribute wisdom to global ecological governance.
At the meeting, the representatives of both sides respectively introduced key areas of cooperation, looked forward to the future prospects of cooperation, and exchanged in-depth views on issues such as supporting Chinese experts to hold positions in the International Forestry Federation, enhancing the influence of the International Forestry Federation, jointly hosting high-level academic conferences, promoting high-level mutual visits, and conducting capacity building.

After the meeting, the delegation of the International Union of Forestry Federation visited the Wood Specimen Museum of Chinese Academy of Forestry and the National Key Laboratory of Forest Genetics and Breeding.
Relevant officials and experts from the Institute of Chinese Academy of Forestry, the Institute of Forest Environment and Forest Protection, the Institute of Resources, the Institute of Ecology, the Institute of Science and Information Technology, the Institute of Woodworking, the Department of Science and Technology and the International Department participated the discussion.
