On October 19, Xiaomo International Logistics Port in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province (referred to as Xiaomo Port) was bustling with activity. 1,380 BYD new energy vehicles were orderly loaded onto the "Changzhou" roll-on/roll-off ships and bound for Brazil. Previously, seven giant ships had successively docked at Xiaomo Port and set sail. So far, BYD's "sea fleet" with an annual transportation capacity of over one million vehicles has all made it appearance at Xiaomo Port.
As a deep-water port in the eastern Guangdong, Xiaomo Port is gradually developing into an important hub of BYD's global strategy. From January to September this year, Xiaomo Port exported a total of 23,000 vehicles, more than 90% of the goods were sourced from BYD's Shenzhen-Shantou base. In October, the volume of roll-on/roll-off ships automobile export operations at Xiaomo Port increased significantly. According to the terminal operation plan, the auto export volume this month is expected to exceed 14,000 units, setting a new record for a single month since the port openings.
To ensure the efficient export of new energy vehicles, the transportation department of Shenzhen has proactively connected with car companies, ports and shipping companies, systematically sorted out and coordinated to solve the demands and difficulties of all parties, optimized key links such as vehicle entry, inspection, parking and loading, and keep real-time track of vessel docking plans and the progress of terminal operations, organizes Xiaomo Port Operation Company to customize professional and refined production operation plans, and provides 24-hour port operations and inbound and outbound services to ensure "zero delay" in car exports.
The first phase of Xiaomo Port features two 50,000-ton multi-purpose berths and one 3,000-ton workship berth, capable to meet the annual transportation demand of 300,000 vehicles. The main project of the second phase started in January this year. After its completion and operation, Xiaomo Port will have an annual transportation capacity of one million vehicles. At present, Xiaomo Port has opened a total of 11 ro-ro foreign trade routes, covering seven core regions around the world and reaching Europe, South America, Africa, Southeast Asia and other regions.
