According to the China Chemical News Agency,BASF Coatings and NIO recently announced that they have signed a letter of intent with the goal of establishing a strategic partnership and further deepening their cooperation in the automotive coatings field.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward establishing a long-term mutually beneficial relationship between the two parties, with a focus on automotive body coatings for NIO's electric vehicles. Both sides will work to build a collaborative platform spanning multiple areas, including market and customer development, project management, and information exchange.
As part of the strategic partnership, BASF Coatings will deliver a comprehensive product portfolio tailored to NIO’s specific technical requirements, alongside value-added services spanning color design, color development, digital solutions, sustainability initiatives, technical workshops, and industry-leading technical support.
BASF Coatings' President, Rald Horlacher, stated, "The strategic partnership agreement signed this time is built upon a decade of successful collaboration between the two parties. NIO has established itself as a leader in the electric vehicle sector with advanced technologies and a clear brand image. We will continue to explore innovative technologies to help NIO achieve its sustainable development goals and vision for the future." NIO also emphasized the significance of this collaboration in achieving shared objectives. Together, the two parties will strive to promote the development and application of new coating materials and technologies on a global scale to advance sustainable development and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.
