Zhu Jiaqi, correspondent of China Civil Aviation Network, reported: In the first quarter of this year (from January 1to March 31), Ganzhou Golden Airport handed over a brilliant "report card": the cumulative passenger throughput was 567,000, a year-on-year increase of 20.7% and a year-on-year increase of 26.4% compare 2019; 4,812 transportation flights were guaranteed, a year-on-year increase of 16.7% and a year-on-year increase of 26.1%; Cargo and mail throughput was 1,465.7 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.2% and a year-on-year increase of 29.4% in 2019. This robust growth marks a historic peak for the same period, securing a strong start to the year and laying a solid foundation for achieving annual targets.
The passenger transport market has shown a robust signs of recovery. During Spring Festival travel rush this year, the highest single-day passenger throughput of Ganzhou Airport exceeded 8,200, and the average passenger load factor of major routes such as Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu exceeded 80%. After the season change of flights, the newly opened routes such as Beihai, Zhoushan and Xuzhou filled the gap of routes from northern Jiangsu to Ganzhou, and at the same time connected the central urban agglomeration and coastal tourist cities in South China in series. Popular routes such as Hangzhou, Kunming and Chongqing continued to demonstrate their market potential.
Currently, Ganzhou Airport is speeding up efforts to establish itself as a regional aviation hub, continuously optimizing its flight route network to provide "aviation momentum"for Ganzhou’s development as a provincial sub-central city. With the approaching peak summer travel season, the airport has begun planning new summer flight routes to ensure efficient and convenient travel for passengers.
