近日,淮阴工学院官网发布《关于淮阴工学院更名为淮安大学事项社会稳定风险评估的公示》。
Recently, the official website of Huaiyin Institute of Technology published a “Notice on the Public Display of the Social Stability Risk Assessment for the change of Huaiyin Institute of Technology’s name to Huai'an University”.
The announcement reveals that Huaiyin Institute of Technology stands as a provincial public undergraduate institution, recognized currently as a master's degree awarding body and a leading applied-undergraduate university construction project in Jiangsu Province. The initiative to rename Huaiyin Institute of Technology as Huai'an University constitutes a pivotal move to refine the provincial higher education landscape and support regional economic growth, facilitating the institution's deepened development, career promotion, and enhancement of talent cultivation capabilities. Post-renaming, the university commits to being deeply rooted in Huai'an, serving Jiangsu, with a national reach, fostering a greater number of high-caliber talents, and contributing to Jiangsu's advancement as an education powerhouse.
As per the official website, Huaiyin Institute of Technology, situated in Huai'an City of Jiangsu Province, is a provincial bachelor's college that traces back to Huaiyin Industrial College established in 1958. The institute gained its current form in 2000 after merging with Jiangsu Agricultural Reclamation Workers University, Huaiyin Workers University, and Huaihai Communications Vocational College. It is accredited as a master's degree-granting institution and a leading applied undergraduate university construction project within Jiangsu Province. Currently, the institution comprises three campuses—Meicheng Road, Beijing Road, and Xiaohu—hosting 22 academic units, 73 bachelor's programs, and 3 categories of professional master's degree authorization points.
Huaiyin Institute of Technology, primarily focused on engineering studies, is a multidisciplinary applied university encompassing management, sociology, agronomy, literature, law, art, science, education, and other disciplines. Presently, it boasts 6 key disciplines under the province's "14th Five-Year Plan," and 3 disciplines ranking among the top 1% globally according to ESI, namely Engineering, Environment & Ecology, and Chemistry.
