[Comprehensive Financial Report by Huanqiu.com] Recently, data from the App Store free app rankings shows that DHgate (Dunhuang.com), a Chinese cross-border e-commerce app for overseas markets, has rapidly climbed to the 2nd place in overall free app downloads and 1st place in shopping app downloads in the US region within just a few days.
数据显示,敦煌网在iPhone免费应用下载排名中长期徘徊在300名左右,拥有较为稳定且相对较小的受众。然而,4月12日前后,敦煌网在海外整体下载量激增,尤其在美国市场,一个周末期间其APP下载量增速分别达到了98%、732%和940%。
Statistics show that DHgate had long lingered around the 300th position in the iPhone free app download rankings, with a stable but relatively small user base. However, around April 12, the app’s global overseas downloads surged dramatically—particularly in the US market, where its daily download growth rates hit 98%, 732% and 940% respectively over a single weekend.
据悉,敦煌网创立于2004年,是中国最先从事B2B跨境电商交易服务的平台,同时也是美国市场上最大的中国B2B跨境电商渠道。天眼查数据显示,2005年至2014年间,敦煌网完成5轮融资进入D轮,累计融资规模超5.5亿人民币,历史参投机构包括华创资本、集富亚洲、凯鹏华盈中国、华平投资等。
It is reported that DHgate, founded in 2004, is one of China’s earliest platforms specializing in B2B cross-border e-commerce transactions. It also ranks as the largest Chinese B2B cross-border e-commerce channel in the US market. Data from Tianyancha (a leading Chinese enterprise information platform) reveals that between 2005 and 2014, DHgate completed 5 rounds of financing, advancing to Series D, with total funding exceeding 550 million RMB. Its historical investors include well-known institutions such as China Growth Capital, JAFCO Asia, KPCB China, and Warburg Pincus.
早在2014年,敦煌网就已推出自营物流品牌DHLink,通过整合外部跨境物流供应商,以轻资产的模式持续运营。目前,DHLink覆盖全球220多个国家和地区,拥有近150条物流线路和十余个海外仓。此外,敦煌网还成立了驼驼数科,为小微企业提供全球60余种货币的支付、交易服务。
As early as 2014, DHgate launched its proprietary logistics brand DHLink. Operating under an asset-light model, the brand integrates external cross-border logistics providers to deliver consistent services. DHgate’s unexpected rise to fame is largely attributed to contributions from factory suppliers in its supply chain. On social media, Chinese suppliers on the platform shared that many OEM factories for US luxury goods, designer clothing and cosmetics are based in China—and factory production costs are often just 10% to 20% of the retail prices. US merchants connect directly with Chinese manufacturers via DHgate, gaining significant benefits from the platform’s customized, small-batch and quick-response business model.
