China Xinjiang launches new 1.2 million-ton coal chemical project

近日，新疆恒联能源年产120万吨煤制乙二醇项目（一期60万吨）启动了环境影响评价第一次公示。

Recently, Xinjiang Henglian Energy Co., Ltd. initiated the first round of public consultation for its environmental impact assessment of its coal-to-ethylene glycol project, which has an annual output of 1.2 million tons (with the first phase targeting 600,000 tons).

Construction site: Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xinjiang

建设概要：以煤为原料通过气化制备乙二醇60万吨/年，副产碳酸二甲酯2.7万吨/年、硫磺2.1万吨/年，混合二元醇1.9万吨/年。生产装置主要包括气化装置、变换装置、低温甲醇洗装置、硫回收装置、H2/CO分离装置、DMO合成及精馏装置、乙二醇合成及精馏装置、空分装置。

Construction summary: Using coal as raw material via gasification, 600,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol is to be produced, together with 27,000 tons per year of dimethyl carbonate, 21,000 tons per year of sulfur, and 19,000 tons per year of mixed glycol as by-products. The production units are comprehensive, including the gasification unit, shift conversion, low-temperature methanol washing, sulfur recovery, H₂/CO separation, DMO synthesis and distillation, ethylene glycol synthesis, distillation, and air separation units.

1月12日，新疆恒联年产120万吨（一期60万吨）煤制乙二醇项目气化装置和乙二醇装置工艺包开工会在西安举行。新疆恒联与浦景化工于2025年12月签订乙二醇工艺包技术许可合同，华陆负责工程设计。该项目采用航天迈未气化工艺。

On January 12th, the kick-off meeting for the process design package of the gasification unit and ethylene glycol unit of Xinjiang Henglian Energy Co., Ltd.'s coal-to-ethylene glycol project with an annual output of 1.2 million tons (600,000 tons in the first phase) was held in Xi'an. In December 2025, Xinjiang Henglian Energy Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Pujing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. signed a technology licensing agreement for the ethylene glycol process design package, with HuaLu Engineering&Technology Co., Ltd. responsible for the engineering design. The project adopts the gasification process of Aerospace Maiwei Technology Co., Ltd.
