从浙江大学校长调任教育部党组成员、副部长之后，杜江峰的分工已明确：负责政策法规、教师教育(师范教育)、学位与研究生教育、巡视、离退休干部工作。

杜江峰曾任中国科学技术大学党委常委、副校长，2022年12月起任浙江大学校长、党委副书记。今年2月25日，人社部网站发布消息称，任命杜江峰为教育部副部长，免去其浙江大学校长职务。
