At the close, the December light crude oil futures contact on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose by 33 cents to settle at $60.48 per barrel, gaining 0.55%. The December Brent crude oil futures contract on the London exchange advanced by 52 cents, or 0.81%, to close at $64.92 per barrel.
