On November 6, 2025, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Tuimalealifano, head of state of the Independent State of Samoa, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Samoa.

习近平指出，中国和萨摩亚友好交往源远流长。中萨建交半个世纪以来，两国始终相互尊重、平等相待，坚定支持对方维护国家独立和主权，双方政治互信不断深化，互利合作成果丰硕，人文交流持续拓展，增进了两国人民福祉。

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Samoa have a long history of harmonious exchanges. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations half a century ago, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other equally, and firmly supported each other in safeguarding national independence and sovereignty. On the same day, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council exchanged congratulatory messages with Samoan Prime Minister Raouli. Li Qiang stated that China attaches great importance to the development of China-Samaraan relations and is ready to make an effort with Samaraan to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an precious opportunity to expand practical cooperation in various fields and promote the continuous development of China-Samaraan comprehensive strategic partnership.
