New WHO report urges bold steps for equitable access to novel TB vaccines

use catalytic global financing and market-shaping instruments like advanced market commitments and volume guarantees to incentivize manufacturers to expand capacity and negotiate more affordable prices;
generate early, country-level evidence, such as demand forecasts, cost-effectiveness analyses and budget impact studies that guide national vaccine adoption;
clarify available domestic financing commitments and donor financing, that can help identify gaps and mobilize resources;

establish a coordination platform for supply and demand stakeholders to align, supported by shared roadmaps and regular dialogue that can help synchronize timelines between manufacturing, financing and country access;

promote technology transfer and licensing to at least one manufacturer in each high-burden region to strengthen regional supply security, regional ownership and vaccine acceptance.
