Any time the Los Angeles Lakers head to New York to face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, it's a big deal. This season, in particular, it was expected to be one of the biggest games of the early portion of the season given the star power and expectations for both clubs. Unfortunately, things don't always turn out the way we hope.

Meanwhile, the Knicks have fallen apart after a hot start and have also lost four of their last six outings. Both teams would be stuck in the play-in tournament if the season ended right now.
