2019年“全球观 家国情”粤港澳外语与翻译研究生学术交流周

暨第一届粤港澳外语与翻译研究生翻译比赛

为加强粤港澳三地学生文化交流，促进校际学术沟通，推动港澳及华南地区外语学科建设与发展，广东外国语言学会、广东省外国文学学会、香港翻译学会及中山大学国际翻译学院拟于2019年5月联合举办“全球观 家国情”粤港澳外语与翻译研究生学术交流周，活动内容包括“智汇之声”粤港澳青年破冰交流会、“全球观 家国情”系列主题讲座暨开幕式、粤港澳城市对话、第四届粤港澳外语与翻译研究生论文评选大赛、第一届粤港澳外语与翻译研究生翻译比赛和学术沙龙六项活动。第一届粤港澳外语与翻译研究生翻译比赛即将拉开序幕，现面向广大英语、翻译相关专业研究生及翻译爱好者征稿，征稿要求如下：

2.比赛语种及形式

本次翻译比赛设英译中和中译英两种形式，参赛者可任选一项参加，或同时参加两项。参赛者在比赛期间进行网上答题，须在截止时间前提交答卷。

四、奖项设置及颁奖典礼

本次翻译比赛来稿将由粤港澳专家组进行匿名评审，最终将在中译英稿件中评选出一等奖1名，二等奖2名，三等奖3名，并在英译中稿件中评选出一等奖1名，二等奖2名，三等奖3名，获奖作者将受邀参加本次学术交流周活动，并出席颁奖典礼。

五、参赛费用

本次活动不收取任何费用，活动方将为参加活动的获奖选手提供食宿（粤港澳地区内报销交通费用）。

The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate

Academic Exchanges in Foreign Languages and Translation Studies

Call for Translations

To set up a platform for academic and cultural exchanges among postgraduates in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, Sun Yat-sen University plans to hold the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Academic Exchanges in May 2019.

Launched in 2015, this program aims to promote academic and cultural exchanges by inviting postgraduates from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau to share their inspirational ideas concerning foreign languages and translation studies. It has been successfully held for three sessions, attracting many postgraduates from renowned universities.

For this year’s activity, we will hold the 1st Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Translation Contest alongside the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Paper Competition. We are now pleased to announce the call for translations for the 1st Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Postgraduate Translation Contest.

Submission Guidelines

This contest consists of Chinese-English translation and English-Chinese translation. Participants can participate in either one or both.

The sources texts will be delivered on Shiyibao (an online platform) on March 1st, 2019. Participants should submit their translations at Shiyibao. To submit works on the system, users should first create an account. User guides are available on the platform website http://www.shiyibao.com/. Important Dates:

Submission: March 1st, 2019 - March 22nd, 2019

Academic exchange week: May 10th, 2019-May 13th, 2019

Awards

Translations will be reviewed and graded by an expert group. One first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes will be selected from Chinese-English translations and from English-Chinese translations respectively. The winners will be invited to participate in the academic exchange activities and attend the award ceremony.
